Elephant Face, Mars Surface, NASA’s Orbiter
An image which seems to show the side-view of an elephant and its trunk has been photographed on Mars by NASA’s Mars Reconnaissance Orbiter using the HiRISE (High Resolution Imaging Science Experiment) camera on board the spacecraft. Dubbed the ‘Elephant Face,’ the unusual topographical feature was formed by lava flow dribbling down from the volcanic Elysium Planitia region. (Spotted on Hungeree)
